[42. The laws of ability development, part 3]

Let’s examine the laws of ability development. (No. 3)

3. You can’t skip steps when it comes to ability development.

When you child has become able to use a certain skill, parents should not hurry and make your child move onto the next level too soon.

“My child could already do step 1 of this skill yesterday, so I’ll let him/her advance their skill at a higher step today. He understands this step now, so I’ll teach step 3 tomorrow.”

This training way doesn’t always bear good fruit. By rushing into the next steps, your child will not be able to fully master each step. Repetition practice makes the brain wirings smoother and stronger.
