SHICHIDA METHOD: 100 wisdoms how to develop your child‘s intellectual ability/七田式・本当の知力をつける100の知恵

[37. Basic Knowledge 10: Money, part 2]

Buying toys and snacks with money is, in fact, a very useful tool for letting your child obtain a sense of money.

To teach them, parents should go shopping at the supermarket with your child.

Your child may get attracted at the snack corner because they want you to buy them some snacks.

When this happens, parents should not just reject the child’s wish.

You can suggest to your child such as “You can only buy ONE snack today, and other snacks next time.” and let their hope fulfil a little bit.

In addition, you may ask your child to have a snack AFTER DINNER, and if your child promise to do so, you can buy one for them.

Let’s get your child to learn small patience during shopping.

As a game and learning activity, playing as cashier and customer is also a very important activity to learn the sense of money.

Playing the customer, parents can ask their child “How much is this apple?” and let them have the opportunity to learn and read price and money value.
